Craig Norquist

Craig Norquist, MD, FACEP, FAMIA

CHIEF MEDICAL INFORMATION OFFICER, HONOR HEALTH

Craig Norquist, MD FACEP FAMIA, is double board certified in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Informatics. He is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and former chief resident in Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Medical Center EM Residency. He has worked in community medicine for the last 20 years, serving as Department Chair of Emergency Medicine, the Chief of Staff for one of the hospitals, Network Patient Safety Officer, and now Chief Medical Information Officer for the network. He also serves as the Fellowship Director of Clinical Informatics and has a special interest in the use of technology to improve the delivery of care for both patients as well as care givers.

Craig is a veteran of the United States Navy and has been an active participant in ultra-marathons and is one of the few who have completed the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, where he completed 4 of the oldest 100-mile trail races in 10 weeks. He has also completed over 18 Ironman distance triathlons while working full time as an emergency medicine physician and informatics.

Perhaps most importantly, Craig is also a cancer patient, having been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma several years ago and recently completing chemotherapy, all while continuing to work as much as possible. Going through the rigors of chemo has provided a more compassionate and empathic perspective on care and how it could be improved.
