MEDITECH Expanse Patient Connect Webinar Recap
On June 9th, Kerry Weschrob, MEDITECH Marketing Manager for Patient Engagement, and James Courtney, MEDITECH Marketing Solution Specialist, hosted a webinar to demonstrate Expanse Patient Connect, the newest enhancement to their EHR.
Powered by WELL™ Health, Expanse Patient Connect is designed to improve engagement, portal adoption, outreach, and administrative efficiency. The solution automates patient communication via conversational bi-directional messaging in the patient’s preferred communication channels, including text, email, and phone. Patient Connect leverages the WELL Health communication engine to access EHR data and automatically send reminders, instructions, and follow-up messages to patients. Patients do not have to download apps or visit any external websites, and the solution integrates with appointment confirmations directly into the Expanse EHR platform. Patient Connect helps to drive patient portal adoption and provides many substantial benefits to health organizations including the reduction of call volumes, no-shows, and wait times.
During the webinar, Courtney demonstrated features such as secure two-way text messaging, the virtual waiting room, multilingual reminders, and broadcast and campaign messaging. For two-way messaging, he showed how automated messages sent out of Patient Connect do not require staff members to craft or deliver multilingual messages about confirming appointments, patient reminders, and other routine matters. The feature is designed to save staff members time and effort so they can work on more important complex issues. The virtual waiting room demonstration focused on how the feature offers patients a contactless check-in experience and improves overall patient satisfaction since they won’t have to sit in a cramped waiting room to get checked in.
With broadcast and campaign messaging, Courtney showed the audience how the feature allows staff to send messages to a large group of patients in the event a doctor is unavailable to eliminate the need to contact each patient individually. There was interest from the audience about the total number of messages that can be sent via a single campaign so WELL™ VP of Strategic Partnerships, Andrew Spevacek answered that 30,000 people can be messaged at a time per campaign. Questions came pouring in as the webinar drew to a close so the hosts directed all questions and interest in learning more about Expanse Patient Connect to their sales consultants who can answer questions about implementation and timelines.
